Gonna chillax a bit.
I've been getting a lot of counsel from friends and family over the last couple days, and the unanimous decision has been to just let the whole thing go.

The job wasn't really important to me, since the contract was going to end in December anyway. Even the local police visit was rattling but not a crisis in and of itself, since they advised me the case was without merit.

I do want to tell the whole story at some point, once everybody's got some distance from it. But in the meantime, I'm just going to relax, putter around the beautiful weather we're having, write some comics and get my things in order to move out to California. I kinda think this whole episode touches on something important, even if I'm not quite sure what it is yet. But that's a conversation for later.

I'm sorry you have been going through a rough time.
I admire your skill and storytelling abilities and hope that this unfortunate situation won't put you off sharing your creativity with those folks who appreciate it.

Well at least you're with a supportive family. It is a nice to leave a sucky job and isn't full filling.

You are AWESOME! Hang tough.

To quote the band the Toasters and their wonderful song, D.L.T.B.G.Y.D. (AKA. Don't Let The Bastards Grind You Down)!

I was shocked to hear about all this stuff happening to you. Glad to see you're trying to think positive about the whole mess and move on. I can't even begin to think how I'd react if it happened to me, and you seem to be handling it well.
Good luck! :)

Sounds like a good plan from here.

And hey, you moving to California means there's a chance I'll get to fanboy your ass when I move out there...

Keep up the good work :)

On the bright side, it made for entertaining comics

People on the b.org list have been posting their support for you Matt, but Claude says you don't get b.org mail anymore so I thought I'd pass the word along.

And we should get a beer sometime when you come out to California.

Sounds like a plan, and a good attitude, man. I'm sorry I didn't write in earlier. Good luck with all your pursuits.

Matt, I've been a fan of you since you first became a part of MacHall and I'm SO sorry this crap happened to you.

People get mad about things they can't control and decide to control whatever they can (imo).

Please continue to write what moves you and don't let these idiots make you feel like you have to censor yourself.

VT was a terrible tragedy, but that doesn't repeal free speech.

Hey Matt, I've been a long-time fan of your work ever since Mac Hall was alive and kicking, and I gotta say, keep it up man. No matter what happens in this deranged country of ours. Good luck in all your endavours, present and future.

-A fan.

Awww. Although you probably will never remember me, I've always found love chatting with you at Otakon about Mary Prankster every year. I'd say this is a one off deal and Maryland isn't that bad... but I'd be lying, seeing I moved permanently up to Boston 3 years ago and only come back to visit for Otakon and an annual night of debaucery in Fell's Point. Stay sane, relax, and I hope you have an easy time finding a position in SanFran.

And remember the docks. Those are pretty damned unique to the chesapeake, and the best relaxing spots. Just make sure not to leave your toes unguarded.

Well, when you do want to talk about it, lots of people here in the crazy world called San Francisco will lend an ear.

And we've got docks too! You just have to be on your guard in case a sea lion decides you're "in his territory".

Only half kidding about that one...

Bummer, but as the man above said, they were funny comics.

Can you please get fired from your next job too?

Probably the smart thing to do, though no one in their right mind would blame you for being righteously pissed off.

Hi Matt, just heard about this from Grandma. I always miss all the excitement. Now I sort of want to take a poll of the family: Who is surprised that one of us lost a job for supposedly making threats? Now who's surprised that it *wasn't me*? It just seems like something that would happen to me, somehow. I feel like I've dodged a bullet.

Srsly, you should get rid of the goatee--maybe it makes you look like evil-Mirror-Universe-Matt.

PS: The new comic looks good.

In retrospect, we should have started a pool. It definitely would have been someone eventually.
